What's New With Us

Well, late this month, we finally got a dose of winter with our first significant snowfall. It started early in the morning, and by noon, we were in a winter wonderland on the estuary. Picture perfect with temps hovering around the freezing mark and calm winds.

Both Anne and I recorded short video time-lapses, and I published a longer video showing scenes around the RV Park. It was an enjoyable snow day, but I'm glad we are back to milder temps even if it's raining. It's a little less work and worry when living in an RV.

We also took a drive out to Strathcona Provincial Park this month to check out the winter scenery. The snow-covered mountains looked spectacular, lakes were full, and the rivers & waterfalls were flowing fast. Nothing like a visit to the beauty of the Vancouver Island backcountry to keep your spirits up.
When stuck in the RV due to foul weather days, I've continued editing together my 2011/12 Throwback video series. It's sure brought back memories from that first year in the RV. Hopefully, it gives folks some ideas for their own trips.

In this month's videos, we start in Charleston, SC, and travel the Georgia and Florida coasts all the way to the Keys. Stops in Savannah, Jekyll Island, Daytona Beach, and the Everglades.
I did manage a few mods and reviews for you. You'll find reviews of the Jomise K7 Dashcam and an interesting new portable power station from HIMCEN. The power station is fairly unique in that its battery pack is removable, allowing for increased power storage capacity.

I also was able to upgrade our galley waste tank valve to electric, thanks to the generous folks at DrainMaster.com. No more crawling around on my hands and knees to get at the pull rod under the RV skirting.

And, to finish the month off, a fun little campsite decoration mod. I made myself a cool-looking solar-powered birdbath fountain filled with interesting beach rocks I've found.
