What's New With Us

December saw us finally back where we love to spend our winters camping off-grid, enjoying natural surroundings in the US southwest. We spent the first half of the month in southern California.

A few days visiting good friends in Mojave and a couple of weeks camped on the Salton Sea. Then some favorite spots in southern Arizona. Cibola National Wildlife Refuge and Saddle Mountian BLM.
December started with warmer than average temps that saw the short pants pulled out but later on in the month, things cooled, and sweaters were back. We even saw a bit of rain.

Not complaining, though when I see back in British Columbia, they are getting freezing weather and even snow on Vancouver Island. So glad we didn't have to tough out another winter season in Campbell River.
The Ram truck and old Cougar trailer have performed excellently so far; fingers crossed that keeps up. I guess all that rig maintenance and repairs I did during our downtime from traveling has paid off.

So far, I'm happy with the truck's new Cooper tires. Quiet and smooth towing the highways with a bit of beefiness for any off-road or winter driving. Seem to be a perfect combination for us.
Good news, It looks like Anne's multi-year battle with her auto-immune disease PMR is slowly coming to an end. She has reduced her meds and overall feels less tired and nauseous. I've noticed a big difference compared to our last trip south. Physically she bounces back much faster after a travel day or a short hike. So spirits are bright. Stay tuned to see what we get up to in 2022. Cheers!
