Hello, and welcome to the May Newsletter. I hope my USA friends are enjoying their long weekend.

Thanks, everyone, for subscribing to and reading my monthly newsletters. If you're new or missed any editions, you can always catch up by visiting the Archive Page.

What's New With Us

It's been another month of hanging around the RV park campsite and the local area. British Columbia had a significant third wave of Covid cases with the new variants, so the government imposed regional travel restrictions. They also advised people to stay close to home.

Thankfully more people are being vaccinated now as supply grows. I finally got my first dose a few weeks ago. After the recent Victoria Day long weekend, they loosened restrictions and announced a plan to reopen things this summer in stages. So it looks like to worst is over. Yay!
I've continued to use this downtime to work in the old Cougar fifth wheel, upgrading and maintaining it. By the time I get it back on the road, it will be in tip-top shape! Never better.

10 years ago this last week, Anne and I left the sticks and bricks life and moved into our home on wheels. At the time, she said to me, "I have a feeling we will still be living in the RV ten years from now." She was right. :)
In early June, I've booked us three days at nearby Strathcona Provincial Park. We absolutely love the park. It will be a nice little getaway into the backcountry for us and a chance to get the rig back on the road.

I'm looking forward to testing out my new suspension components I installed last fall. Also, good to give our diesel truck a workout. In the last 14 months, we've only put 3500 km on it. (2175 miles) But mostly city and some unloaded highway driving. The Ram 3500 will be 3 years old this October and so far has been terrific.
We will be camping with no hookups, so it gives me a perfect chance to real-world test a powerful portable power station I'm reviewing, the Bluetti AC200P. This is the first one of these boxes I've tested that can run pretty well everything in our RV. Stay tuned...

I came across this website when searching for replacement graphic options for our 2011 Cougar. They actually have all of them! Not sure about the quality as I haven't bought any, but maybe I will give them a try this fall.
