Hello, and welcome to the June Newsletter. Happy Summertime.

Thanks, everyone for subscribing to and reading my monthly newsletters. If you're new or missed any editions, you can always catch up by visiting the Archive Page.

What's New With Us

Another month has quickly passed here on Vancouver Island. As is often the case, June has been relatively cool and wet with a few spurts of sun and warmth. People around here refer to it as Junuary. The bright side is this season's wildfire risk is much lower than last year. I'll take a little rain and cloud versus forest fire smoke any day.
We have continued to hunker down and try and avoid too many outings. BC has done a great job of fighting COVID-19, and thankfully cases are way down. Things are beginning to open up slowly. Here at Thunderbird RV Park, they are now welcoming new campers.

Rules are still pretty strict, though, and we aren't allowed any outside visitors yet. They sanitize everything often; even the RV sites get a thorough scrub down between occupants.
We feel quite safe here in our little oasis. Love watching the tide slowly roll in and out while enjoying the goings-on of the estuary wildlife. The other day I looked out the window to see a pair of Killdeer and three tiny chicks scurry by the back of the rig.

Quite a treat to catch a close-up glimpse of the young ones. Then the very next day, a couple of real deer showed up to say howdy.
I've finished spiffing up the LYRV website and, during the month, published a few review videos along with some tips and repairs.
I'm eagerly waiting on a big shipment from Lippert Components with a bunch of products to review. First on the list will be a Solera screen room shade setup that attaches to the RV awning.

It should get here just in time as the weather is beginning to warm up. The way our site is situated, the afternoon sun hits our awning side. The extra shade will be welcome on hot days. Stay tuned for the install video
I'd like to wish both my Canadian and American friends a wonderful upcoming July 1st Canada Day and July 4th Independence Day.
Hopefully, you can get out in the RV to enjoy the holiday. Cheers! Ray

Campendium

Campendium has always been a great resource to research campsites. A good database of campgrounds and lots of real reviews providing first-hand information, photos, etc.

Now they also have a page that updates which parks are open or closed State by State.

RVing Tip of the Month

Using a garden liquid sprayer to fill your large battery bank

A great tip by Eddie from the LYRV Forum

--------------------Tip of the day!----------------------------
"Using a garden liquid sprayer to fill your large lead wet cell battery bank.
You can use a small garden sprayer for filling your batteries by removing the nozzle tip turning the sprayer into a portable watering hose for your battery's distilled water.
This is a big deal for those that have very large battery banks, and need to fill multiple batteries.
The plus is you can put the tip back on and use the sprayer to spray off the batteries after you clean them with baking soda water."
Happy Trails!!!
