I've also made a couple of trips this month to our storage room, transferring a bunch of items we use during our summer stay here but won't take on the road with us. The goal is to keep the trailer lean and not overload it.
Our short-term plan is to travel around Vancouver Island, visiting some of the forestry and Provincial park campsites we can fit into. Now that the summer high season is winding down, good campsites should be a little easier to come by. A few days ago, we took a drive and scouted out a sweet, newly built camping area right on a lake that is free for up to a 2-week stay each year.
We'll be in sort of a holding pattern as we patiently wait to see what happens with the USA land border. Right now, it's still closed for non-essential travel until at least Sept 21st. Weird since on August 9th, Canada opened its border to Americans. Been seeing RVs with US plates around here now.
I sure hope the border opens before winter sets in! But if not, plan B is to come back and spend it again in Campbell River, BC. At least now I have all the cold-weather gear like skirting, dehumidifier, and heated water hose sitting in the storage room if needed.
