What's New With Us
May 1st we sailed across the Strait of Juan De Fuca from Port Angeles, Washington to Victoria, BC completing another fabulous snowbird season. Big shout out to all my American friends for your hospitality. You have a wonderful country. So beautiful, friendly, and diverse. Thanks for sharing with your northern neighbors.

During our 177 day visit, we camped in 40 spots during an approximately 5000-mile trek. This trip saw us visit Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada. Our new Ram 3500 truck performed wonderfully! Check the recent posts section for a 10,000-mile review update.
The weather was a mixed bag with surprisingly mild, sunny weather on the coast in the November and April but many wet, windy, coolish days during winter in the southwest. We even experienced snow! However, compared to a regular Canadian winter, I'm not complaining by any means. :)

Highlights included Christmas at Lost Dutchman State Park near Phoenix, another return visit to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument and witnessing a snow-covered Chiricahua Mountains! Check out the Snowbird Trip post archive for video logs from our 2018/2019 adventures.

May has been spent busily catching up with family on Vancouver Island and getting things organized after the long trip. There are always lots of things to do like doctors appointments, banking, getting stuff out of storage, taxes, bookkeeping, etc. You know, lots of glamorous full-time RVer stuff. ;)
May 10th we checked into our summer RV park in Campbell River, BC called Thunderbird for an extended stay. We love the location, and it has over the last few years become a home base for us.
Our campsite backs onto a tidal estuary chock full of birds and other wildlife. We get frequent visits by deer, rabbits, and little mink and just as I'm writing this, a black bear ran past before disappearing into the bushes.

This summer you can look forward to my regular RV product reviews plus more mods, repairs, and upgrades to our now 8-year-old Cougar trailer and the new truck.

I'm also planning more vlogs of our day trips around Vancouver Island and maybe some over to the mainland. I've lived in BC so long I kind of take the beauty for granted, but I realize many folks love to see the views.

You'll find a few of these videos in the recent posts below. Included are two videos from the southern tip of Vancouver Island in the Victoria area and a third from pretty little Telegraph Cove, up in the northern part of the island.
Finally, this week Anne and I mark our 8th anniversary as full-time RVers. Who would have thought when we embarked on a one year RV trip of a lifetime back in 2011 that we would still be living in the RV. I have to say we have no regrets and plan to keep on trucking. Its a been a marvelous lifestyle for us.
