What's New With Us

This month, the USA announced that the land border would be open to non-essential crossings on November 8th. So, we have decided to take our regular snowbird trip south for the winter. Yay!

Currently, we are doing some driveway surfing visiting my sister's family, and getting all prepared for the 6-month trip.
Earlier in the month, we spent a couple of peaceful weeks camped at Miracle Beach Provincial Park. Being the shoulder season, the place was only about a 1/4 full at best. Fall is a favorite time to camp, with all the leaves changing color and the summer crowds subsided.

October is the perfect month for leaf peepers on Vancouver Island. Though, be prepared for some rainy days and several wind storms. This month a pair of videos with views around Miracle Beach and one from a trip up nearby Mount Washington for a pretty hike around, aptly named, Paradise Meadows.
While camped in the driveway, I'm testing out a new FlowJet 12V macerator pump I bought to dump our RV waste tanks into a home sewer system.
My bro-inlaw and I are working out a setup to make the task super clean and easy for me. The macerator hose will connect to a special port installed on the outside wall of his house, not far from the driveway. The port will be plumbed directly into the house's main sewer drain pipe. Stay tuned for a video demo of that, plus a few other new things I'm installing on the RV before we head south.
