What's New With Us
The last year or so has been quite the ordeal healthwise for Anne. She has developed an autoimmune disorder called PMR, short for Polymyalgia Rheumatica. You can read more about it in her recent blog post.

She had to have a multitude of tests and see a specialist, as many other diseases come with similar symptoms. Finally, though, they seem to have it pegged as PMR, and she is taking the appropriate medications to deal with the pain.
All this, of course, weighed on our minds as to what to do this winter. Do we stay in BC and endure the cold and rain and possible snow in our trailer? Do we put the RV in storage and rent a place? Or, do we head south as usual?
After many long talks, we have decided to give it a go and travel south as usual. Luckily I'm able to do all the physical stuff that needs doing. I can take and plunk her down in sunny and beautiful locations. That's got to be better for her frame of mind, and she loves to travel. We have fingers crossed that the PMR runs its course quickly.

On a Happier Note
Our stay at Thunderbird RV Park in Campbell River ended on September 24th, and we had an extra week before moving to our next campsite. So, I decided to splurge a bit and take a little getaway trip to visit family then tour BC's Sunshine Coast.
We put the fifth wheel in temporary storage and took just the truck. The trip was a lot of fun. It was great to revisit a part of BC I hadn't been to since I was a little kid. Of course, I had my camcorder along with me, check the blog post for five videos. You'll find footage from the multiple ferry trips and beautiful coastal views plus a couple of sweet looking provincial campgrounds.

During October, we have been camped at the Pedder Bay RV Resort on the south end of Vancouver Island near Victoria BC. It's our first time staying here, and I have to say I really like it. The rates are quite high, we paid near 900 CAD, about 680 USD, but it's a quality park, so not out of line.
Spacious RV sites with modern hookups, rural location with a marina, and beautiful hiking all around. I'll have a full review video coming out soon.

During the month, I prepped the rig for the trip, and Big Blue Two got an oil change, lube, and fuel filters plus a tire rotation. The odometer is at 13.600 miles (21,887 KM). So far, we have had BB2 for one year and love it!
I also had some fun with several new product reviews. Included in the review videos are a new Action Camera, OBD2 Scan Tool, Wireless Rearview Camera, and an RV Cell Signal Booster. See the links below.
The month finished off with a lovely day trip out to the wild west coast to explore Botanical Beach. It's about a 2-hour drive on a narrow winding highway but totally worth it for nature lovers. Amazing tide pools!

November sees us slowly meandering our way south. Stay tuned...

PS. Thanks for all the well wishes and advice that has poured in for Anne. With her condition, it's hard for her to have the energy to write back to everyone, but do know the emails and comments are read and much appreciated!
