Here's the trailer:
Being Frank: The Chris Sievey Story official trailer
And here's the official UK poster that's going to start going up in cinemas across the land:
Being Frank: The Chris Sievey Story is being released at UK cinemas and on digital on March 29th 2019.
On digital means on iTunes, Amazon, Google and others.
I'm really proud of the trailer and poster and think the marketing team at Altitude Films has done a grand job elevating this micro budget movie to the level of a proper cinema film. Hope you love them too.
Being Frank’s March 29th release is our one big chance to have Chris and Frank’s legacy reach new audiences so he finally gets recognised as the creative genius he was - recognition that sadly eluded him during his lifetime. We really need the help of every supporter to spread the word about it as much over the next few months as we ever did during the years it was being made. If not more so!
So please spread the word that Being Frank is coming everywhere very soon! As we get closer to March 29th please share the trailer and the poster everywhere, and get creative, get vocal and get spreading the word about Being Frank: The Chris Sievey Story in any way you can.
A bit about how we made the poster
To make the poster we needed an image that didn't exist in Chris Sievey's archive, so we ended up doing a photo shoot in the wilds of Garstang one Sunday. The poster features not just Frank's actual head, suit and trademark pink tie, but also Chris's son Stirling Sievey filling out the suit.
Stirling jumped at the chance to play his dad and he couldn't have been any more authentic - after all, it was Stirling that won the Frank Sidebottom look-a-like competition in aid of the statue fund. Anyone who saw his performance at 'Sidebottom's Got Talent' was left pretty speechless at the way Stirl could effortlessly become Frank. We're sure Chris would be so proud to have his son on the poster.
Still to come this week
I'm expecting to be able to make two more fantastic announcements around the film this week, so keep your inboxes peeled for those.
And a quick message to all backers of the film (people who contributed £10 or more to the Kickstarter campaign or pre-ordered their own copy of the film), a backer-only update was sent out on Tuesday and may not have reached every inbox intended. If you didn't receive it please email me at the address below.
