A funny improv fundraiser
at Eddie's Attic on May 7!

Improvisation is all about saying "yes, and..." this coming Tuesday, May 7, we’re putting the fun in fundraising as Decatur Makers and Eddie’s Attic partner to hold the first annual Make It Up! Improv Show.

It will be a night filled with unrehearsed hilarity (they'll be making it up!) provided by professional improvisors from across Atlanta and special guest stars. Plus you can get hands-on and make something, meet some creative makers, and win interesting prizes: Want to build your own 3D printer with help from our makerspace manager, Kevin? You can bid on that! Same with a welding experience, a private sewing class, and beautiful maker art, and much more.

- $20 for General Admission (Tables of 4 are $80).

- $15 for members of Decatur Makers (a discount code was emailed to the community).

What We're Making

This creative member designed and made his future wife's wedding ring at Decatur Makers, using materials that had meaning in support of their relationship. He also built the box to carry it. Congratulations! #creativelove

We hold Family Build Nights for our youngest makers (aged 6-10 years old) and their families (grandparents included!) on the last Wednesday of every month. It's free and open to the public, where kids get hands-on with 2-3 projects. Last month the kids used hammers to make string art, used the scroll saw to make whirligigs, and explored strawberry DNA.

An interested group of our members had the chance to visit Georgia Tech to learn more about honey bees. Special thanks to Dr. Jennifer Leavey from the Georgia Tech Urban Honey Bee Project for hosting a special bee hive inspection for Decatur Makers! We had an awesome time!
