Chair's Message  

     Greetings. Thank you to the members who have volunteered to be on        the 2014-2015 MN Section election ballot. Please make sure you open      the email from National IFT, as our Section election is tied to the                  National election.

     The ballot represents elected positions for our section, but please keep      in mind, there are other committees that need your ideas and talents.          Get involved to keep our section going strong. A list of committees is                                    located at www.mnift.org

I'd also like to thank the Auction Committee for their efforts this onto to raise money for scholarships, with the online and live auction. Great job!

We have a few meetings remaining before our sumer break.

Silent Auction Results are in......

We just wrapped up a successful 2014 MN IFT Silent Auction thanks to the support from our wonderful donors and our ambitious MN IFT Members who love helping out a great cause. We were able to raise over $8,500 which will be split 50/50 between Feeding Tomorrow Scholarship Fund and MN IFT Scholarship Fund. 

For those of you that like numbers, here's the auction results:

Scholarship Awards available for qualified Food Science candidates:
  • Elwood Caldwell Scholarship Award for Volunteer Service
  • Graduate Scholarship Award    
  • Undergraduate Scholarship Award
  • Travel Scholarship Award
Students from North Dakota State University, South Dakota State University, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, University of Wisconsin-River Falls, and University of Wisconsin Stout are eligible to apply.

Want to meet kids passionate about science?!

We need volunteers to help judge Middle and High School student projects for our 4 IFT Special Awards for the top two Food Science projects. The contest is Monday March 31st from 7:30 am until 5:00 PM at the Double Tree in Bloomington.  If you can't make it for the whole day, you could judge for a half-day in the morning or after noon.
