A Series of Events for the Second Week of Advent

Talk about a busy week, there is a full calendar of events during the second week of Advent. In this Pulse of the Parish video Valerie Hanks, our Parish Life Administrator, extends an invitation to women for the “Keep Calm and Advent On” event; Fr. Bryan Biba, the Assistant Rector at CCA, shares information about a new class on Anglican worship. Our Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Erin Macdonald is super excited to share about the return of a traditional Advent event: The Family Advent Celebration. Much more is happening at CCA! Check our calendar on the website for additional events. We look forward to being with you as we prepare our hearts for the coming of our Lord!

MISSION
Advent Conspiracy 2022
Love for the Least

Be a Part of a Different Story this Christmas
The panic of holiday sales and the hurried dash to pick up the newest gadget leaves many wondering what the point of all of this actually is. This month we are focusing on a powerful ministry that seeks to encourage folks to spend less, give more, love all and worship fully.
You will be hearing a lot over the coming weeks about Advent Conspiracy and Love for the Least. Consider how you can choose to spend just 10% less on unwanted/unnecessary gifts and instead decided in your heart to use that money to give more to the poor. By doing so Jesus will be honored, lives will be saved, and communities changed.

To donate and learn more, visit the link below.
Checks may also be written to CCA  and placed in the offering plate with Advent Conspiracy on the memo line.

2023 Stewardship Campaign Update

Good News! As of this week, we have surpassed the amount pledged for 2023 by about $32,000. We are hoping to hear from about 18 people who have yet to submit a pledge but at the 2022 level that would still leave us with a deficit of around $17,000. As you can see above, we need $110,000 more in pledges to balance our 2023 budget (that as of now includes no staff compensation increases). The Finance Committee will meet December 13th to consider possible cuts to expenses in order to erase the possible deficit.

Whitefield Center Fundraiser

The Advent Festival of Lessons and Carols has a long a rich tradition in the Anglican Church. First begun at King's College Cambridge in the early 20th c., the service features all the Sunday morning choirs of Christ Church as well as carols from the congregation, all proclaiming the coming of the Christ child. This is a terrific opportunity to invite friends and family to our church!
