PULSE OF THE PARISH

Do Not Fret

Scripture encourages us not to fret, not to be anxious and not to be afraid. When we experience fretfulness, anxiety, or fear, we can let them serve as prompts to pray to God for the issue at hand and for the well-being of our souls.  In fact, he encourages us whenever we experience these negative emotions to pray to him and he will give us peace. It is not a formula; it is a promise through Jesus Christ.

LIFE TOGETHER

"Apocalypse Then"
Living Creatures: Speaker, Katherine Rush
Friday, October 14, 7 PM, The Whitefield Center

Our October event is “Apocalypse Then.”  The evening will feature a lecture from SCAD Professor Katherine Rush on medieval representations of the prophecies of John and Daniel.  There will be plenty of very cool pictures, we promise! Local artist Braelyn Snow will be sharing some of her own renderings of "last things" as well. We will have some light snacks in the back, but don't plan on skipping dinner unless you really like cheese. :)  Please join us Friday at 7 p.m. so you don't miss the lecture!

Thursday
October 20, Healing Prayer Service, 7 PM

Our monthly healing service invites the healing presence and touch of the Lord into our lives, families, church, and community. We offer prayers for healing for body, soul, spirit, and relationships. At our services, there is no calling people out, requirement to identify needs, say anything or get out of your seat. We pray for healing for the congregation, and if those present would like to receive personal prayer, what they share is confidential and completely voluntary. Join us to receive the Lord’s healing and to offer your prayers for others.
