On Thursday 4 May we will have a historic opportunity.
Liverpool Friends of the Earth
Dear Stephen

On Thursday 4 May, we have a historic opportunity to vote for our first elected Mayor in the Liverpool City Region.

The new Mayor will make decisions about skills, employment, housing, transport and planning - as well as tackling urgent social and environmental problems.

This is our opportunity to tell candidates what to prioritise. Will you send them a quick message?
Ask the candidates to prioritise people and planet
The Liverpool City Region is our home, and our new Mayor will have a huge influence on our lives. We want to make sure they deal with the issues that are most important to us.

Since October last year, volunteers living in Liverpool City Region have been developing a People’s Vision for the City Region, surveying hundreds of local residents for their views.

We have composed a draft letter, which you can edit if you wish, to ask candidates to support the People’s Vision and to say what you’d like to see happen in Liverpool City Region.

Our new Metro Mayor must deal with the crisis of our polluted air - which contributes to the death of over 700 people in Liverpool City Region each year.

They must also ensure that new homes are built in the right place, and to the very best environmental standards. They must recognise that the future is low carbon and promote a clean economy free from fracking and powered by renewable energy.

Ask our future Mayor to support these actions and improve our future today:
Please email the Mayoral candidates now
The power is in our hands.

Thank you,

Frank Kennedy
