England Golf Development Opportunities

England Golf are currently providing 2 great development courses.

The Young Leader Workshop is for young people to support their peers to have a great introduction into golf. The Club Activators Course is for volunteers who support the PGA coach to deliver activity within a golf facility.

Both courses don't require you to have lots of golf knowledge or ability, just a willingness to help people like you have great golf experience.

Club Matters open workshops

The workshops are short, free training sessions that will develop your skills, improve your knowledge and ultimately help you develop your club.

Funded by Sport England, they’re for groups of at least four clubs, and build on the content of the online resources on the website, with case studies, topical issues, exercises and a discussion section.

You can learn more about their workshops here.

Who Says? campaign from Activity Alliance

Activity Alliance have relaunched their ‘Who says?’ campaign, this time focusing on breaking down the negative perceptions that can affect the opportunities disabled children and young people have to be active. The campaign focuses on four misconceptions:

1. Young disabled people should sit out of PE lessons

2. Disabled people can’t be leaders

3. Disabled children can’t grow up to be active adults

4. Families can’t be active together

To help sports clubs, community groups, schools and other delivery organisations to understand these negative perceptions and how to address them, Activity Alliance has released four new campaign films exploring the stories of disabled children and young people.
