Dear  Clare,
Welcome to Wesport’s first newsletter of 2017!

This month’s edition includes a look back at the fantastic success of our annual Winter School Games. We welcomed over 1,000 young people from Primary and Secondary Schools across the West of England, who took part in 4 days of sports competitions and tournaments. This year’s games included an array of sports and involved many close scores and nail biting finals; the event was a fantastic showcase of the talented young people we have across in the West of England.

This Newsletter also includes information about the equipment we have available to hire. Wesport has a variety of items that can enhance the look, feel and enjoyment of your event. At the moment, we are offering 50% off the booking fee for an event that is either raising money for/ or organised by a charity. As well as this, keep an eye out on our website for the latest information about Sport England funding themes.

Finally, you will find some information about the newly launched ‘Try for Change’ fund. Developed by both England Rugby and Comic relief, the fund is a small grants programme aimed at supporting smaller charities, community groups, and local rugby clubs in England. Importantly too, there is information about the NSPCC’s call for the Government to recognise the importance of closing loopholes that leave the door open for child abusers to target young people in sport and beyond.

Best Wishes
Steve Nelson
