Get ready for those summer evening strolls filled with one too many scrumptious samples from the South Waterfront Farmers Market. Opening Day of our 8th season is on Thursday, June 6th from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm! Join us for a fun-filled day with live entertainment, giveaways, and of course, fantastic food.

Speaking of good food, make sure to get some culinary inspiration from our seasonal eats recipe below and by also attending our cooking demo with chefs from Rosswood Restaurant on Thursday June, 13th at 6:00 pm next to the music tent!

We’re incredibly eggcited to announce that Crooked Furrow Farm will be bringing farm fresh eggs to the market throughout the entire summer! By Opening Day, they should also have snap peas, lettuce, spinach, fava beans, Asian greens, walla walla onions, and turnips too.

Meanwhile, our mighty mushroom vendor—Bridgetown Mushrooms—will be offering lion’s mane, chestnut, and four different types of oyster mushrooms (pink, yellow, blue, and Italian in case you were wondering).

And if the weather cooperates, all three of our berry vendors—Marquam Hill Berries, Fujii Farms, and Valley Berry Farm—will have some sweet, juicy strawberries for you!

This season we are offering stylish new green and veggie-themed market t-shirts. The first 15 visitors to the Ronald McDonald House Charities tent (located right next to the Info Booth) on June 6 will get a free t-shirt!  Click here to see a full sized preview of our shirts.

You can also score some market bucks—which work like cash with all of our vendors—this month too. Sean Z Becker Real Estate will be giving away $1 Market Bucks to the first 100 visitors to their tent on June 20th! Stay tuned for more t-shirt and market buck giveaways in the coming months as well!

-Olive Oil
-2 peeled garlic cloves
-1/2 tsp. of minced garlic
-Salt & pepper to taste
-2 oz. diced chorizo
-1 bunch thin asparagus (about 1 1/2 lbs.) cut 1-to-2 inch lengths
-1 bunch green onions, chopped
-8 large eggs, beaten
-1/2 tsp. Spanish paprika
-2 tbsp. roughly chopped Italian parsley

Put 3 tbsp. olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add peeled garlic cloves and let them sizzle until lightly browned, then remove.

Add bread cubes, season with salt and pepper, lower heat to medium and gently fry until lightly browned and crisp, about 2 min.

Instructions (continued):
Remove bread and set aside to cool. Add chorizo and fry lightly.

Add asparagus, season with salt and pepper, and stir-fry until cooked through but firm, 3 to 4 minutes.

Add green onions and minced garlic and cook 1 minute more.

Season eggs with salt, pepper and pimentón.

Pour into pan and cook, stirring with a wooden spoon, just until soft and creamy, 2 to 3 min.

Add parsley and top with the fried bread cubes.
