From the President

It's been a vibrant past few months for IABC Wellington with a range of events, some fresh faces on the Board, and new members joining the chapter.

Since our last update IABC Wellington hosted the ‘Wellington World Conference’ where expert communicators from New Zealand and Australia shared their insights from the IABC World Conference. It was a great success and a model we’ll look at replicating.

We had a good turn out for the ‘Great Kiwi Comms OE’ breakfast event where we beamed in live from London communications professionals including representatives from the New Zealand High Commission and IABC UK. Thanks for the positive feedback and we’ll be looking to repeat the event in 2017.

It’s Gold Quill time again so check out the information in this newsletter on what to do to pull together your entry. New Zealand continued a proud tradition of international success with eight winning entries this year.

And we have plenty of new faces on the IABC Board. I’m delighted to welcome Jazial Crossley, Rhys Hurd, Kathryn Healy, Kirsty Harkins and Samantha Fisher. You can catch up with them and other IABC Wellington members at our annual end-of-year event on November 24. It promises to be an entertaining evening, with straight-talking economist Shamubeel Eaqub as our guest speaker. I look forward to seeing you there.

The Great Kiwi Comms OE

At a recent IABC Wellington event, attendees took part in an interactive session by video conference with a panel of speakers from London. The four panellists gave some insights into how to successfully crack the communications market, and shared their thoughts on how Brexit may impact the UK market.
