Our two special speakers:
Lee Webster* of Green Burial Council,
Dan Morhaim** author, M.D.

Speakers for 5/31/20:

*Lee Webster is the author of several home funeral and green burial books, including
Changing Landscapes: Exploring the growth of ethical, compassionate, and environmentally sustainable green funeral practices, and has published articles and interviews that can be found in various media outlets, including The New Republic, Boston Globe, National Geographic, NPR, and many others.

**Dan Morhaim is a board-certified physician with over 40 years front-line clinical emergency medicine experience. He served for 24 years (1995-2019) in the Maryland General Assembly House of Delegates. His second book "Preparing for a Better End: Expert Lessons in Death and Dying for You and Your Loved Ones" is available for pre-order now from Johns Hopkins Press (www.press.jhu.edu) and Amazon. He has written numerous articles for medical and general media publications."

"It is more important now than ever to ensure our medical affairs are in order.  We can use this opportunity to prepare a “Medical Go-Bag” should a hospital visit be required," says Dr. Dan Morhaim. "This would include: a list of your medical conditions, a list of current medications, reports of recent lab and imaging tests, a copy of an EKG (if available), and an advance care plan so that clinicians know who speaks for the patient if the patient is unable to speak for themselves. An advance care plan can include how you wish to be buried. One excellent online resource is MyDirectives.com.
