Student of the Week: Jin He
Senior Jin earned the honor this week for his academic excellence and effort despite the national epidemic of senioritis that afflicts 12th graders this time of year. He is also acknowledged for his breakdancing skills which were revealed last weekend at prom, and which he demonstrated for the student body this week!
Happening at OA
THANKING OUR LEADERSHIP DONORS
Last Friday evening we hosted a gathering at Amphora Nueva in Lafayette to thank our Orinda Academy Fund leadership level donors. The event included the opportunity to learn about and taste custom blends of olive oils and balsamic vinegars.
A group of parents, students, and teachers took advantage of the student preview day at the Maker Faire last Friday and spent the afternoon exploring and networking. Dean of Academics Roger Wise attended and reports, "The most amazing thing was the intense feeling of innovation and creativity that the exhibitors and attendees exuded - essentially a 'we can make anything' mentality. I really enjoyed seeing the various school's exhibiting in the education pavilion - an excellent opportunity to see what other young people are doing as a part of their school's maker movement."
Here's a link to a Google photo album from the event.
Student Council co-sponsor Mollie reports that the Arabian Nights prom of 2017 was a great success!

Annu, Matt, and Steven are super happy about their final soap products from chemistry class!
