World Food Day

On 16 October 2021, people across the globe celebrated World Food Day! Watch our interviews with two of our coordinators Dara and Sophie as they discussed what good food means to them.  On this day also our youth leader Stephanie took part in World Food Day hosted by the Netherlands Food Partnership.



 

FAOxUNICEF Masterclass hosted by the World Food Forum

Dubai Expo2020

This year Dubai held the Expo2020. To celebrate World Food Day they hosted the Dubai World Food Day Flagship Event with GoodFood4All. Two of our youth leaders Priya and Sophie spoke at this event to highlight the work Act4Food Act4Change is doing across the globe. Check out the highlights here.


K12 Food Challenge – Innovation World

Our youth leader Taylor is running a global healthy food marketing challenge for youth under 18, with cash prizes for the winning teams through his non-profit Tailored Food. Find out more here.


The World Obesity Federation has recently collaborated with the Wellcome Trust on a project – ‘Youth Voices for Planetary Health'

The project aims to highlight the synergies between climate change and health around COP26. Our friends from The World Obesity Federation have created a series of videos showcasing youth calls to action for leaders at COP26, asking them to recognise the synergies between food systems failures and climate change. The videos were showcased at COP26 as part of the WHO Health Pavilion event on Tuesday 2nd November, from 14.15 to 15.15 GMT. COP26 is taking place in Glasgow from 13th Oct – 12 Nov

Act4Food Act4Change will host an event titled, “Calling all young people to be agents of change in food systems transformation.”

This event is brought to you by The Food Foundation working in partnership with WWF. It will be hosted by Dara Karakolis, Act4Food Act4Change Youth Leader from Canada and Global Youth Lead at The Food Foundation. She will be joined by youth leaders from countries across the globe, differing sectors and youth organizations.
