FAIRYTALES GONE WILD

After years of Disneyesque fairy tales set in perfect worlds, the Deadly After Ever series by J.A. Kazimer brings noir styling to not-so-typical fairytale and nursery rhyme characters.

Think Neil Gaimen meets Shrek, in a bar, at last call.

KensingtonTHE LADY IN PINKThe Lady in Pink Cover

Released on August 18, 2015, book two in the Deadly Ever After series offers all the insight and dark whimsy of the genre with a health dose of humor and intrigue.

Coming home to find a dead body in your living room isn’t the best way to end a long day’s work, especially when that work is as New Never City’s premier blue-haired PI. It’s even worse when the corpse is your intern, electrocuted to death, and you’re the one with enough voltage flowing through your veins to power Fairyland.

Blue Reynolds has nabbed his fair share of criminals—with and without the help of his alluring half-fairy partner Isabella Davis—but this one is proving to be more slippery than most. As Blue and Izzy investigate who might have wanted a lowly intern dead—and why—they begin to uncover a diabolical plan that could put both of their lives in danger…and unearth shocking secrets that stretch deep into Blue’s shadowy family history.

THE FAIRYLAND MURDERSThe Fairyland Murders
Book 1 in the Deadly Ever After Series

Meet Blue Reynolds, PI.

Blue knows the darker side of New Never City--the side that's hopped-up on fairy dust and doesn't care if your house gets blown down. Rent's due and his PI business is all but make believe. But even Blue shudders at having to chase after Isabella Davis, a freckle-nosed redhead five feet tall on her tip-toes...if you don't count the pretty pink wings.

Izzy is tough, and sneaky, and not too thrilled with the idea of being the new tooth fairy. The last six have been most gruesomely extracted. But Blue has a feeling that whoever is killing the tooth fairies is worse than your standard big bad psycho. The fairy council is hiding something. The Shadows are moving out into the light. And Blue is saddled with a shocking power that could take out half of New Never City...

Fairytale Trivia:

In 1812 the Brothers Grimm published the first volume of “Children and Household Tales,” an anthology of 86 fairy tales about believable subjects which helped teach basic moral values. Over their lifetime, the Grimm brothers would collect and publish more than 500 fairy tales in six volumes.

I’m sure you remember the Grimm’s version of Cinderella, where the slippers are made of fur and do some really nasty things to the step-sisters feet. But what you may not know is the pre-Grimm version, handed down for centuries. It has Cinderella murdering her mother so the King could marry the wicked stepmother.

Makes me like Cinderella so much more.
