Unboxed Voices is a NYC production company that features new and seasoned storytellers, actors, writers, playwrights, musicians, comedians, and other performers. Our mission is to provide opportunities for all to unbox their creative voice.
This year has already been filled with a lot of exciting Unboxed Voices events; including our first ever Open Mic Night! Held on the last Tuesday of every month, our Open Mic Night gives performers of all kinds an opportunity to do whatever they like for 5 minutes at the mic. Our first Open Mic featured Marisa Duchowny, who played the guitar accompanied by her amazingly beautiful singing voice. Other performers included Anthony Roman reading a short story, David Mitnowsky singing while also playing the guitar and harmonica, and Andre Ignacio Dimapilis sharing one of his spoken word pieces.
Review: 4th Annual Ode to Poetry By Kat Chua
This annual event is one that holds a great deal of sentiment. Our 1st poetry event was at Linger Cafe in Brooklyn, the 2nd at Bar 82 in the East Village and the 3rd and 4th at Think Coffee. Spending it at Think for another year gave me a breath of relief that we have found a home here.It was an electrical evening with folks new and familiar with UV. We had our very own Lexy and Alanna, accompanied by returning poets: Roberto Chavez, Rachel Castillo, Andre Dimapilis, and Stella Milnes, and graced by two new UV performers: Chauncey Velasco and Gerald Molley.
More Upcoming Events!
