Hey y'all,

My bestie and her new hubby (you can read about her experience of "cancelling" their wedding at the outset of COVID here) are coming to town for some socially distanced outdoor hangs this weekend. I think y'all know by now that I take a more measured approach to being outdoorsy, and she's the same, so our plans consist of sitting in a river and making s'mores.

If you're more of an adventure seeker—as most Western North Carolinians are—check out some of our old Leisure & Libation pieces, like this 2018 article on road biking, this one on downhill mountain biking, or this classic take on our regional rivers and their activities. But I think daredevils and layabouts alike will agree on this month's L&L: local ice creameries. 🍦

Until next week,
