MakerBloks wins the 2015 Prix Montréal Inc. 

Nearly 600 people from the Montréal business community were present last night at the Salle de Pas Perdus at Windsor Station for the Soirée Montréal Inc., an annual benefit for the Fondation Montréal Inc.

The winner of the Prix Montréal Inc. was chosen by the business people who attended the event. François Poirier of MakerBloks company was selected as the most outstanding business among all Fondation Laureates over the past 12 months. 1642 Cola and Neuro-Concept were the other two startups in the running.

The 3 finalists will share multiple awards including subscriptions or credits from the following organizations: Agence TankC2 MontréalBoard of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, École d’entrepreneurship de Beauce,  Fasken Martineau et KPMG.

The Montréal business community honours the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec

In addition to celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit of Montreal, the Soirée Montréal inc. 2015, presented by Desjardins Entreprises, was an opportunity to pay tribute to the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec in recognition of 50 years of investing in the Québec economy. The Soirée Montréal inc. raised $325, 000 which will be invested in the form of grants and consulting services for young Montréal entrepreneurs.

The Foundation welcomes 25 new Laureates

Fondation Montréal inc. is pleased to welcome 25 new business Laureates. These companies are proudly sponsored by the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, which is financing all 2015 grants thanks to its major donation to the Foundation's fundraising campaign.

To mark the Caisse’s 50th anniversary, a total of 50 grants were awarded in 2015.

Fondation Montréal Inc. is proud to welcome 17 new Zone Montréal inc. entrepreneurs.

What is the Zone Montréal Inc.?

The Zone Montréal inc., activated by Desjardins Business, provides 40 startups with support services that the Foundation is renowned for – even if they do not receive a grant. By becoming a entrepreneurs of the Zone Montréal inc., the entrepreneur is given the opportunity to refine their business plan over a period of 12 months and resubmit their Fondation grant application.

Female Entrepreneurship Cocktail 

At the Soirée Montréal inc., Denis Coderre, Mayor of Montréal, emphasized the invaluable involvement of 350 business volunteers who graciously offer hours of consulting services to entrepreneurs of the Fondation Montréal Inc. and help lead them down the road to success.

He presented the 2015 Mayor's Award, which highlights the exceptional contributions made by volunteers, to Raymond Bachand in recognition of his ongoing commitment for several years.

Guillaume Lavoie, Lawyer of the Year in corporate law

Congratulations to Guillaume Lavoie, from the law firm Lavery, for being named Corporate Lawyer of the Year by the Young Bar Association of Montréal. Mr. Lavoie is also a very active and much appreciated Fondation volunteer.

The Lavery law firm is donating $150,000 to the Foundation's fundraising campaign – consisting of $25,000 in cash and the equivalent of $125,000 in time from five volunteer lawyers that will act as coach.

Louise Leroux, Foundation volunteer and facilitator of co-development groups, launched her first book Bonheur & leadership: guide d'auto-coaching sur le bonheur et le leadership authentique. Congratulations!
