The nominations will end Sunday September 18th at the start of Mass (5 pm). The other Execs and I are really happy to be on this committee and we are passionate about serving our Catholic Student Community. Join us! Please contact us at if you have any questions about the nomination process or any of the positions.

Meet the NCSS Executive Member

Meet Harry Zhai!

What is your position on the NCSS executive board?

I’m VP Spiritual, in charge of spiritual events in the NCSS, organizing prayer events such as the Wednesday Night Rosary.

What is your year and program?
This is my second year at McGill but I am an U1 double majoring in History and Religious Studies.

What is your favorite event the NCSS puts on each year?
I love the Newman Ball, it’s always at the end of the year near Easter. This past Newman Ball we had great music and nice drinks. It’s just a lot of fun to see so many people gather together and dance.

Who is your favorite saint and why?
My favourite Saint is probably St. Brother Andre of Montreal. He was an uneducated humble porter serving in a school near Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood. His love and devotion to St. Joseph made him a great saint that by his own power and the grace of God, the biggest church in Canada was built on Mount Royal, attracting millions of tourists and pilgrims each other.

What is your favorite bible verse?
“And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” —Matthew 16:18

What is your favorite restaurant in Montreal?
think it would be Le Passé Composé. It’s a great place for brunch! But in general, a lot of Montreal restaurants have good brunch. Also I love poutine, if anyone knows a good place for poutine, let me know!

Feel free to check out the executive committee section of our website to learn more about our executive members.
