Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. In this case, it involves virtual reality goggles, the Madison Plan Commission, and a number of construction professionals focused on the future.
A new, state-of-the-art entrepreneurial hub is coming to town and Findorff will begin construction on the property this year. This iconic project is called The Spark and will be part of a mixed-use property in Madison’s Capitol East District.
In collaboration with the project’s owner American Family Insurance, as well as Eppstein Uhen Architects, Starting Block, and ArchVirtual, Findorff was able to bring the project to life without putting a shovel in the ground. This was made possible through the use of virtual reality for land-use approval by the Madison Plan Commission. According to Scott Resnick, Madison's President Pro Tem of the Common Council, this was the first time in the United States virtual reality accompanied a building's zoning approval. This project will be a landmark building in Madison. Much like other Findorff projects such as Overture Center and Monona Terrace, The Spark will be the epicenter of innovation and collaboration for all types of businesses.
