"Genuine errors" could become the main focus of exam
re-marks, in what seems to be a narrowing of grounds for appeal.


Ian Stockford, executive director for Ofqual, told a conference that a "misleading impression" about the number of marking errors and the quality of marking is given due to grades being changed based on differences in opinions between examiners.

Framework

Making Space - Soldering
Drop into the Making Space at the Life Science Centre and solder a basic circuit,  a small badge with flashing LEDs, a great task for beginners and those with more experience. There is a £1 additional charge per circuit. More info .

Schools Northeast   The National Union of Teachers (NUT) released findings from a recent survey conducted to show the impact of cuts to school funding. 74% of respondents said their Head Teacher had already expressed concerns over funding issues, while almost half (47%) said that teaching posts had either already been cut or were expected to be cut in their schools. Nearly 70% reported existing or expected cuts in budgets for books & equipment. Read more >
