The establishment of the country’s first iodised salt refinery plant by NPM Industries in Ulmera, Liquica District, with support from MDF is a major breakthrough in the attempt to ensure availability of locally produced, good quality and competitive iodised salt in the country. Read full Story.

Expanding market linkages and services for dairy farmers in Pakistan

 
The Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Peter Heyward and his wife Susan inaugurated a new milk collection centre in February, in Fattoo Wala Chakkar – a village in Vehari district of Southern Punjab in Pakistan. The event marked the start of the second phase of the partnership between MDF and Shakarganj Food Products Limited, which has established 10 milk collection centres in villages in Southern Punjab. Read full Story.

Southern Solutions engages more fishermen to provide consistent year-round seafood in Fiji

 
MDF and Southern Solutions partnered in October last year to address the lack of year-round supply of fresh and processed seafood, particularly for the tourism industry. Many hotels, resorts and restaurants rely on importing these items and this becomes more difficult when certain quality or consistency requirements are imposed, especially with hotels and resorts. Read full Story.

Fos Timor: Timor-Leste’s first rice brand supplies local rice to consumers  


Timor-Leste’s first ever local rice brand, ‘Fos Timor’ produced by Acelda Unipessoal was launched in September last year, marking an important milestone for the country in reducing its dependence on imports through creation of a new rice market. Read full Story.

Fiji Export Council looks at long-term policy change to help Fijian exporters
