Linton Free Church - Whats on this Week?

Here is another edition of our weekly 'Whats On' email. Don't forget, you can always check the church calendar which is on the website and can be found here.

Highlights for your diary this week:

  • Church Meeting - this Thursday at 8pm we have our church meeting which is open to everyone, members and non-members alike. It's an opportunity for all of us to help shape the future of our church and to discern God's plans for us. If you heard Chris' sermon on Sunday you would have had a sneak peak on the main agenda item entitled 'Strategy for Mission and Outreach' and it will be a chance for all of us to feed our ideas and thoughts into this very important area of our church life together. You can download the agenda for church meeting here.
Next Sunday we have cafe church. Chris Kemshell will be leading and preaching. Don't forget to invite your friends to this informal service.

In other news...

  • Bibles for China - you've probably heard by now that Chris Kemshell and Richard Silk are travelling to China at the end of October to distribute Bibles to the rural poor so they can have their own copy in their own language. All of their travel and accommodation costs are fully funded, but the Bibles cost money to produce. If you would like to support this worthy cause they have both set up a web page in order for you to donate. You can support Chris here and Richard here. The charity that organise the Bibles is called Good Books for Asia (GB4A) set up by Mark and Jan Newton. You can visit their home page here: http://www.gb4a.org. It would be great if we could show our support for this amazing charity by support Chris and Richard.
  • A request from Junior Church - We have a large number of children in Junior Church now which is great. But it has meant that we have struggled at the end of the session to ensure all the children are safely collected by their parents before people start coming into the hall for coffee. Please can we therefore ask that you give the parents of the children in Junior Church a few minutes to collect their children from the hall before heading through to coffee? It is important that we keep the children safe so we really appreciate your help in this matter.
  • A Big THANK YOU - to all of you that joined us yesterday for bangers and mash. It was all for a good cause, raising money for REACH in Haverhill.
