A Friendly Note From Our Team

Dear <<First Name>> ,

On Easter Monday, Curaçao celebrated the traditional Marcha di Seu, our annual harvest parade. This annual parade celebrated its 40th edition this year with 45 groups, each showcasing their own colorful Seu costume. Approximately 5,000 people participated in this colorful and joyous parade!

King’s Day was celebrated on Monday 27 April with festivities being held all over the island. People dressed in orange, the representative color of Dutch Royalty, and joined together to celebrate the birthday of our King.

Meanwhile, RE/MAX BonBini is working hard to finish the interior of our new office to open in Eden, Shoppers’ Paradise on Caracasbaaiweg.  We schedule to open the office by 1 June 2015. You can view some photos of Eden, Shoppers’ Paradise following.

On 2 May there will be the opening of the exhibition “Curacao During the War” and further on the Blues Festival and Latin Music Festival.

We are anticipating these events with excitement and hope that you will enjoy the month of May by this newsletter also.

Air Canada Expanding Curaçao Service

Air Canada is expanding its service to Curaçao in good time for the summer season.  The expanded service is helping to boost airlift after witnessing a substantial increase at the end of last year with new flights offered by JetBlue.

Following modest growth of 2.5 percent in 2014, the island has seen big increases so far in 2015, with a 13.7 percent increase in stay over arrivals in the first two months of this year, according to data from the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO).

Presenting our New Agents

Janice: After living and working in Toronto Canada for a couple of years, Janice returned to the island and worked on a project with the Curaçao Government. With the completion of this project and being very interested in real estate she now embraces the opportunity to work with RE/MAX as agent. Janice is very passionate about Sales, Marketing and Interior Design and is looking forward to explore these channels. Speaking Dutch, English, Spanish and Papiamentu we think Janice is a great addition to our team.

As a 'yu di Korsou' Rahim knows everything there is to know about the island.  While living in the Netherlands he finished his education HBO Architecture (speciality Real Estate & Project Development) and graduated Master Real Estate Management. Thanks to this study and the experiences he gained while working for a real estate agency in Rotterdam he has a lot of knowledge of real estate general.

Furthermore three of our existing agents appointed an assistant to optimize their services for our clients. Ricardo will be assisted by Josie, Mark by Suzanne and Taco by Nadine.

We are sure that the new agents as well as the assistants will make a huge contribution to our service level and are glad to welcome them to our team.

Princess Beatrix opens exhibition Guera na Korsou in Curacaosch Museum (3 May - 12 July 2015)

On 2 May Princess Beatrix will open the exhibition Guera na Korsou in Curacaosch Museum.

The Committee Guera na Kòrsou?! War in Curaçao 1940-1945 aims to promote the fact that in May 2015 we will be remembering the beginning of World War 2 (75 years) as well as its end (70 years) in Curaçao.  The goal is to safeguard the memories and importance of World War II by highlighting the important role of our island during the war, and the big impact of the war on Curaçao.

Two New Music Festivals on Curaçao

People on Curaçao love music - all kinds of music. This realization encouraged the founder of the North Sea Jazz Festival to launch a Blues Festival (BlueSeas Festival 7, 8 and 9 May) and Sambil to make their parking lot available for a Latin music festival (Viva la Musica Latina on 29 and 30 May) as festive inauguration of this new shopping and entertainment center, which will hold 180 establishments - including 156 shops, 8 movie theaters of Cinemark including an XD room with the latest technology, 4 restaurants with terraces, and a food court with a variety of local and international cuisine with the hopes of attracting many tourists from South America.
