As is usual during the month of October, the island experienced a healthy dose of rain while Curaçao has been turning a lush green!
On 1 November, the popular Kokomo Beach will host world famous DJ’s Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and for those who are craving more, Cabana Beach has organized its “Cabana Beach Festival” the very next day. For sporting fans the annual “Amstel Curacao Race” which has turned into a major sporting event is not to be missed on 8 November.
Due to the fact we lie outside of the hurricane belt we have not been affected by any storms.
As we near the end of the hurricane season Curaçao will be welcoming many cruise boats during the approaching cruise season starting early November.
Willemstad is a beautiful sight with cruise boats docked at the downtown terminals making it possible to display all of their tourists enjoying their visit to the splendid historic city.

The cruise port of Curaçao has been ranked number one in the world for passenger growth in 2013 found in the autumn issue of Cruise Insight magazine’s “World’s Top 50 Cruise Ports of Call Ranked by Passenger Growth.” Curaçao’s remarkable growth of 41 percent also earned the island a first time ranking into the publication’s overall “World’s top 50 ports.”
From the many popular Caribbean and other destinations in the world, Curaçao experienced the largest year-over-year increase in cruise passenger visits. Over 600,000 passengers visited the island in 2013, compared to about 425,000 in 2012.
In order to stimulate further growth, the CPA (Curaçao Ports Authority) together with the support of the Minister of Economic Affairs Stanley Palm are in the process of developing another megapier for ships and facilities.

The world is learning quickly what we already know. Curaçao is a special island with various beautiful locations and friendly people. This inspired TV producers to visit the island.
The TV series Total Divas recording some segments on the island. Last Sunday a film crew visited Blue Bay Resort to tape Beau van Erven Dorens & Mark van Eeuwen for the new Dutch TV Series “De Vliegende Hollander”.
Furthermore the predominent local Curaçao television news channel came to our office in the Riffort Village to interview our agent Nick Miro who starred in the House Hunters show featuring Curaçao for the second time. During the news segment footage was revealed from the House Hunters International episode.

Amstel Curacao Race 2014
This yearly end-of-season cycling event is well known among cyclist, pros and amateurs, and forms the closure of a busy season. The start and finish lines of the race take place at the Lions Dive & Beach Resort.
The 13th edition of the Amstel Curacao Race will take place on Saturday 8 November, and in the peloton the question of the hour is who will be invited this year? In recent years, internationally well-known cyclist such as Alberto Contader, Mark Cavendish, Peter Sagan, Joaquim Rodriquez, Chris Froome, the Schleck brothers, Tom Boonen and Oscar Freire made their presence.
Feel free to join! The race is not only for professional cyclists as everybody is welcome to compete against the world-class cyclists. This is a unique opportunity to race against Tour-de-France winners and/or world champions. For additional information, the program and reservations click HERE.
KLM Curacao Marathon
The first KLM Curaçao Marathon will be held on the 30th of November 2014 on the Island of Curaçao. The (Duo)Marathon and half Marathon will take you along the waterfront of Curaçao, across the “swinging old lady”, the famous Queen Emma pontoon bridge and even over one of the highest bridges in the world, the Juliana Bridge, at 185 feet above sea level!
We are proud to announce that the KLM CURAÇAO MARATHON is Officially CERTIFIED by the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF) and AIMS (a member-based organization of more than 350 of the world’s leading distance races, from over 100 countries & territories).
