Cinco de Mayo observed this Sunday 05/01/16 at PONDL Winery. Please join us in the tasting room from 12-6 pm. for our fifth annual salsa pairing! We'll be pairing our wines with specialty salsas and treats that are sure to surprise the palate! We look forward to seeing you then!

Mexican Rice
1 cup short grain rice
2 cups water
1 can tomato sauce 15 oz
2 large tomatoes cut in halves
6 garlic cloves
2 dessert spoons of powdered chili (mild or spicy)
2 table spoons of vegetable oil
1/2 tsp salt

Brown rice with oil in a skillet. Once rice is brown add water, salt, tomato sauce and all other ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cover. Simmer for 25-30 minutes. *It is important to mention that the lid fit tightly and not be removed during cooking. The key to this dish is that the rice cooks in the steam.

Serve with your favorite Mexican dish, soft tacos, enchiladas, tostadas and a bottle of our 2013 Tempranillo or our 2012 Zinfandel 'The Fella'.
