Dear Friends,
This is NOT an election email! Which is not to say I don't have the election in mind. But sometimes life has to go on anyway.

The top of my list this month is a children's book that reminds us never to give up on hope. A Whale in Paris  is set in occupied Paris in WWII, and is written with gentleness, big heart, and big imagination. Another very imaginative book for the same age group (9 to 12), The Lost Books, is a little less gentle, but great for action, and offers homage to libraries in the process.

For younger children (8-10), Mio, My Son, reads like a Grimm's Fairytale, full of drama, and superb moral lessons.

Last but not least, I want to give a heads up to an illustrated children's book series that is in the process of publication. Stories for Being is beautifully illustrated and thoughtfully crafted to offer mindfulness to younger (5 to 8) children. I hope you can support their efforts.

I hope you enjoy reading these books with your children.
