Welcome to the new Optimist Club of Gresham Scouters
On September 13, 2015, Governor Dick traveled to Gresham, Oregon to meet with a new group of potential Optimist Club members. With leadership from Ben DeRemer, Gresham Optimist Club president, a room full of scouting alumni came together to consider becoming an Optimist Club. After discussion about the way the new Optimist Club might assist existing Optimist Clubs by serving as a liaison between organizations and the packs, troops, posts and crews they sponsor, the group decided to formally organize as the new Optimist Club of Gresham Scouters. Field Representative Linda Vaught was delighted to welcome, on behalf of Optimist International, 18 new charter members to the club. They anticipate being at 25 or more members by year-end.

The new Optimist Club of Gresham Scouters is sponsored by the Optimist Club of Gresham and Portland NE Optimist Club.
