「香港的種族關係」講座

Our Executive Director, Phyllis, was invited by the Hong Kong Arts Centre on 1 March to be a speaker on “Ethnic Relations in Hong Kong” at the Africa Center, alongside Rev. Franco Mella and Mr. Innocent Mutanga. She shared how Unison supports ethnic minorities strive for equal rights and opportunities. Audiences were in awe at the fact that de facto racial segregation exists in the local education system. Many agreed that racial consciousness and cultural competence of the general population in Hong Kong is low.

少數族裔特殊學習需要兒童的支援意見書

On 5 March, Hong Kong Unison and Musubi Hong Kong made a joint submission to the LegCo Panel on Education to express our concerns on the current support for ethnic minority students with special educational needs (SEN). We urge the Government to deploy more resources on English SEN assessments and parental support for ethnic minorities.

We are also dismayed by the LegCo’s decision to cancel the public hearing pertaining to the Outline.
