Our deputation of 7 attended the public hearing on Feb 25 under the LegCo's Bills Committee on Discrimination Legislation (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill 2018 to speak out against the biggest flaw in the Race Discrimination Ordinance (RDO). We argued for amending the RDO to include the exercise of government powers and functions like the other 3 discrimination ordinances. The deputation included Unison's Executive Director Phyllis Cheung, our Vice-Chair Jeffrey Andrews (also the Convener of Voices of Diversity), our scholarship awardees Aslam Rabia, Lamia Sreya Rahman and Umme Habiba Aslam and our intern Bidhya Shrestha.
