Dear Thầy, dear beloved community:
As the nights cool, and the leaves begin to fall, we transition into the winter months in our sweet Ojai valley. The moon these past few nights has been spectacular and the mountains all around are revealed in shadows and light. Soon the sky will be dark and the endless stars will be visible to fill our hearts with joy. Can you touch these moments in your daily life? It takes but one in-breath and one out-breath to truly see – to be alive in the present moment.

For the month of November, we will hold a special Morning of Mindfulness that not only takes place on a different day but also a different location. We will focus on the basic practice of mindfulness – how to come back to the present moment with our breathing. Everyone will have an opportunity for silent sitting meditation and silent walking meditation. We may even sing a few songs and open up for a period of questions about our practice. Kenley will be offering a short dharma talk and be guiding the morning of practice.

Please join us on Saturday, November 3 from 9:00am - 11:30am at 215 Church Road in Ojai. This is near Nordhoff High School and some know the building as the Amara Healing Center of Ojai

In addition to the special morning of mindfulness, we also have our regular weekly practices.

  • Monday Night Sangha meets every Monday evening from 7:00 - 8:15 pm.
  • Tuesday Book Group meets on the 1st and 2nd Tuesday evening each month from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.

We both hope to see you soon.

A bow to you,
Kenley + Leslie

November Morning of Mindfulness

Saturday Nov 3rd for our Morning of Mindfulness.

This is a special event with Dharma Teacher, Kenley Neufeld and a visiting college class from Cal Lutheran.

Please join us for sitting meditation, outdoor walking meditation and a dharma talk.

Suggested Dana*
$10 per person

In the Buddhist tradition we practice "dana", or generosity, by making monetary offerings for the teachings. Dana is given from the heart. Your generosity is a gift that supports not just the teachers, but also the Sangha, the larger Dharma community, and your own practice.

Deer Park Monastery

Have you considered deepening your practice? A week-long visit to the monastery in Escondido (near San Diego) may be just what you need. They have just listed all their special retreats and seasonal weeklong retreats on their website. It's well worth a visit!
