Jacksons Reflect on Passion for People

Daniel R. Jackson has served as president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America for 10 years. He and his wife, Donna, an associate director for the NAD’s Ministerial Association, are retiring on July 1. Dan Weber, NAD communication director, recently sat down with the Jacksons to talk about their ministry, church life, fond memories and what they hope for the future for the church.

2020 Northwest Camp Meetings

Camp meeting is a time to connect deeper with Christ and reflect on the hope of His soon return and wholeness He brings to our lives. With COVID-19 disrupting our world, this connection with God and fellow believers is more important than ever. While camp meeting will look a little different this year, the blessing of gathering and worshipping as a body remains the same. Camp meetings happening this week:

Upper Columbia Grad Finds Resilience Through Leadership

After a challenging eighth-grade year, Joelle Townsend was desperate to move somewhere new. But Townsend chose to focus on the words of one of her freshman-year teachers, who told her to seize the opportunities in front of her and encouraged her to become involved. And she found resilience. She was able to find a community that highlighted her abilities and helped her to put them to use.

Virtual Program Celebrates Youth

The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted plans for the 2020 Pathfinder Bible Experience, which was set to take place April 1718, in Salem, Oregon. Leaders were anticipating thousands to participate/observe the annual Bible testing for Pathfinders from across the NAD and beyond. Instead, a much smaller group joined a virtual event on April 18.


NAD Ministry Elections After 2021 GC Session

Due to the impact of COVID-19, the postponement of the 2020 General Conference Session until May 2021 and the North American Division policy that requires the election of NAD vice presidents and department directors be held after a GC Session, the North American Division Committee voted on May 21, 2020, to hold division elections on May 26, 2021, in Indianapolis.
