We've Reached Our £30,000 Target!

The shares are in and have been counted and verified. We are so pleased to reveal that thanks to you, our very loyal and generous supporters, we've reached our £30,000 target!

Shares were being sold right up until the midnight deadline on March 31st. The support Dig-In has received from both the local community and our online friends has been wonderful. We can't thank you enough for your kind words of encouragement...and digging deep into your pockets!

So what's next? Well, now the work really begins! The Stocks and Supplies group are busying themselves pulling together our first food orders, the Community Cohesion group and putting their heads together to plan the big opening and the shop fit team are getting their hands dirty painting the walls and number crunching measurements and shop layout options (where is Kevin MacLeod when you need him?!)

Keep your eyes on our social media and your inboxes for updates about the grand opening because it's soon, really soon (end of April soon!)

Once again, thanks to EVERYONE and we can't wait to see you in the shop!

Call for Shop and Fit Out Volunteers

As always, Dig-In wouldn't have made it this far without its dedicated army of volunteers who are working away to make the shop a reality. And like most armys, we're always looking for more people. We are currently putting together our team of Shop Volunteers and seeking folk ready to unpack goods, stock shelves, serve customers! If that’s you then email us on volunteer@diginbruntsfield.co.uk and say hello.

Volunteer Social Meet Up Tomorrow!

If you're anywhere near 119 Bruntsfield Place between 6.30pm - 7.30pm this Friday (4th April) then stop by for our first volunteer social. It's exactly as it reads, social. So bring a snack (or enjoy the tea and biscuits we will have on offer), come and see shop plans and sketches on display and meet the fit out team leader Ian.

New Blogs

We've got a variety of new blogs online including a lovely piece about the kind feedback from our first ever Dig-In shoppers who bought veg bags. We've also put up a stencil tutorial for all you crafty types who want to try branding up your own packaging and wares.

In the near future, we are looking to start a community recipe section and will be on the look out for your favourite culinary delights to inspire our ever growing food loving community. If you're interested in contributing, please email us or Tweet your ideas to @diginbruntsfiel. All welcome!
