Dig-In is three months old!
It's been a busy time at the Dig-In shop and we really can't thank everyone enough for their support and custom.

As always, we appreciate all customer feedback about the shop and we're pleased to say that due to high demand, we are now extending our opening hours. As of today (Monday August 11th) Dig-In will be open from 9am- 7pm Monday to Friday and 10am-6pm on Saturdays. That's 10 extra shopping hours a week!

The continued success of the shop and being able to offer products and changes to suit you is a direct result of your feedback. If you ever have a suggestion or just want to show us what you've cooked up with your shopping, you can message us on Twitter and Facebook.

What's in season?
Dig-In is proud to be sourcing the best seasonal produce from local growers. We have delicious salads, spinach and chard from Whitmuir Farm, only 20 miles from Edinburgh. Our regular organic deliveries from East Coat Organics in East Lothian including fresh herbs, kohlrabi and new season garlic, as well as their own organic eggs which are proving so popular with you all.

We also are continuing to stock produce from the Cyrenians, just west of Edinburgh. Pop in and see what seasonal delights we’ve got in from their farm; recent additions include runner beans, courgettes and courgette flowers – perfect for filling and deep frying for a summer treat. We’re thrilled to be able to offer such fantastic produce, so get them now while they’re in season.

Juicy Scottish tomatoes are now on the shelves, and we have UK cherries, nearly black in colour and at their peak. We still have ripe summer berries coming in from Fife and our strawberries and raspberries have been flying off the shelves – we’re glad you enjoy them!

Shares Still on Sale

You can still buy shares in Dig-in and become a shareholder in Bruntsfield's community-owned greengrocer. We're still delighted to have new shareholders on board and your support means we can continue to provide fruit and vegetables for sale in the community. See our website for more information or pop into the shop for a share form.

Volunteering Update

We are recruiting volunteers to work in the shop as SHOP ASSISTANT VOLUNTEERS, organising the stock and serving customers. It’s a great chance to be part of the community and work as part of a team in a friendly environment. We have a great team of volunteers right now, some folk work a regular day a week, others come in for a couple of hours.

We are also looking for an ADMINISTRATIVE VOLUNTEER to help support our share issue. This would take a couple of hours of your time every week and you would work closely with one of our Management Committee. If you are interested please contact Morag Deans on volunteer@diginbruntsfield.co.uk
