Clear your diaries, Dig-in Opens on May 1st

Newsflash! Here it is, the moment you've been waiting for, the opening day! Well, we can now reveal that Dig-in will open in just 5 days time on May 1st.

The last couple of weeks have seen the shop transform from empty space into a very exciting place. Volunteers have come together and rolled up their sleeves to paint, saw and clean (amongst many other tasks!) to get ready for the big day.

We will post another email throughout the week with more information about times of the opening but for now, stick it in your diary that as of next Thursday, you’ll be able to buy fruit and veg locally from your community greengrocer. How very exciting!

Once again, we would like to thank you for your continuous support and interest in Dig-in - we wouldn’t have gotten this far without you and can’t wait to see you in store.

See more photos of the shop fit out here.

We're now on Instagram, join us

We’ve been feeling a bit snap happy in the shop lately with all of the work happening and thought what better way to share our progress than by setting up our very own Instagram.

You can join our instagram by following @diginveg and see updates about how we’re doing. We won’t just be using it when getting the shop ready though, Instagram (along with our Twitter and Facebook) will be the place to get the most up-to-date photos and news about what’s happening directly from the shop.

We also want people to share their Dig-in photos with us. So, if you visit the shop and take a photo or make a meal with our lovely veg, don’t forget to snap a picture and use the hashtag #diginbruntsfield to share it with us. Join us in Instagram here.

Welcome to our New Shop Manager

We are very excited to announce that Dig-in has appointed a new shop manager. Susan Job (who you can see working hard painting shelves in the picture above) joined the team at the beginning of April and has been getting stuck in with all aspects of preparing for the grand opening.

Not only will Susan be working in the shop alongside our volunteers, she will also be on our social networks letting you know first hand how everything is going. So if you see her (online or off!) be sure to say hello.

Volunteer Opportunities and Training

As we draw closer to the big opening, we will be seeking volunteers who would like to donate some of their time to working in the shop.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please email us at volunteer@diginbruntsfield.co.uk and let us know. Shop training will begin in the near future too for all volunteers so let us know if you would like to get involved.

Also, the Shop will be open tomorrow (Sunday 27th) 8.30 am till 1.00pm. If you have any spare time please feel free to stop by. The more the merrier.
