President's Message

President’s Message

Welcome to World Landscape Architecture Month everyone!  Every year, ASLA and the local Chapters take the month of April to celebrate our profession and use this month to promote landscape architecture.  All month long, please checkout our social media accounts, as well as National’s, for awesome and unique projects as well as exciting events that are taking place.  I always enjoy seeing all the new and exciting projects.  Learning about innovative designs is what helps shape and grow the work I do.  If there was ever a time to stumble upon something new, this would be the month to do it.

Additionally, April 26th is the 200th birthday of Frederick Law Olmsted.  Being the father of landscape architecture, we at WI ASLA will be promoting his legacy throughout the month.  Please visit for more information regarding the 200th birthday celebration, as well as maps of Olmsted works, and articles highlighting some of his projects from around the country.

Lastly, WI ASLA has put out a call for members to join the board!  If you have ever thought to yourself that the Spring Conference, Field Sessions, or just making friends sounds fun, then this is the board for you!  We are always looking for new members to join our committees and to help with many of the events we all love to participate in.  This year we have five possible positions.  Please review the position descriptions if you are interested, and if there are any questions, please reach out to myself or
