Recommencement of Life Church Physical Meetings
As we are now in Phase 3 of the government’s route map out of lockdown, we are now able to open church for physical gatherings subject to some restrictions. I announced on Sunday that the date for our first Sunday gathering since the lockdown will be: Sunday 9th August
This letter gives some guidance on how we will be operating church in the next season. Please read thoroughly and take note of the details.
Sunday 2nd August will operate online as currently.
From 9th August, we will operate physical gatherings as described below, and will continue to operate online as well. The guidance is as follows:
If you have symptoms of Covid-19 or are quarantined, you must not attend until you have completed your isolation period.
If you are shielding you should not attend until the shielding restrictions are lifted.
If you plan to attend Life Church, please be prepared to observe the protocols below:
You must register to attend. This is because we are limited to a maximum of 40 attendees in the auditorium, and 25 in the café. To register, please text or call Chris on 0785 449 8509. You will have to choose which meeting you wish to attend (see below). You are not registered until you have received a confirmation. Once we have reached the cut-off of 40 people maximum, we will operate a waiting list. Applications to attend will open on Tuesday mornings 9am e.g. for Sunday 9th, registration will be possible from Tuesday 4th.
You will have to sign in and out according to the Test and Protect system in place [data will be kept for 21 days]. Sign-in will be at information desk in the café area. Sign out will be in the stairwell foyer at the side-door.
Wash hands frequently & use the hand-sanitiser stations in café and stairwell foyer.
Follow the one-way system; entry through café, exit through side-door onto Hunter St.
Maintain the recommended social distancing [2m]; no hand-shakes or hugging please.
Comply with the seating areas set out in congregational areas.
No Bibles will be available on site. No leaflets will be available either.
Consider wearing face-masks and gloves especially in corridors and in using door-handles, light-switches, etc.
Toilets will operate on a one-in-one-out system with socially distanced queuing.
Please leave the building promptly after meetings end, taking any rubbish with you and disposing of used PPE.
Due to the restrictions on numbers, we will be holding 2 meetings on Sunday morning.
Each meeting will last about 45 minutes. The altered times for church will be:
10am: Church Gathering in auditorium
11.30am: Family Service in auditorium
Life Church Online
An amended schedule for online church will be published next week. We are hoping to be able to live-stream the 10am meeting soon.
It will not be possible to share communion together physically. Communion will be held on Zoom at 7pm Sunday evening during the prayer time.
Online giving is now the preferred method for offerings; however, a fixed offering box will be available for cash and cheque offerings.
No refreshments will be available until further notice.
The Government’s advice on Covid-19 is constantly being updated and we will update our guidance accordingly. Please ask if you have any questions.
