Praying With Jesus: Kingdom, Power and Glory
We come to the final clause of the traditional Lord’s prayer. Its purpose is surely to refocus us back onto the greatness of God. If we have followed the whole prayer through, we have considered how God’s will may not be being done on earth. We have mentioned our needs. We have dealt with matters of sin and forgiveness. And we have thought about temptations and evil. There is much in those categories to distract us from God’s greatness. So it is good to be reminded that He is exalted above them all. It is to Him that we look to put all these things right, for to Him belongs the Kingdom, His is the power, and His the glory. Prayer should always end with faith and hope, and so the focus on Kingdom, power and glory declares once again the supremacy of God over whatever our lives touch.

Tuesday Bible School

The popular Tuesday Bible School will be starting again soon. More details next week.
Reminder - Gift Aid
Anyone putting in an offering to be treated as Gift Aid needs to put their name on the envelope and mark it as Gift Aid. If you have been given a reference number please write that on too as otherwise the Church can’t claim the tax back on your donation.
How to Stretch Your Offering without giving more!
Seems too good to be true but there is a way – read on!
2 Corinthians 9:7
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Giving is part of our worship to The Lord. Everything we have comes from His blessing on our lives. Many don’t realise that if you are a tax payer the money you give as an offering can be made to go further if you put it in an envelope or when you donate online and mark it as Gift Aid
It is a really good way to increase what the Church gets without it costing YOU anything more!
The Church is able to claim back the tax you paid on the amount you gave!
Amount  With Gift Aid
(Tax Relief) your Offering becomes
£3  £3.60
£5  £6
£10  £12
£20  £24
£50  £60
£100  £120
In other words the Church gets an EXTRA £1 from HMRC for every £5 you put in!
 How To Set It Up
  1. Speak to Peter Wallerstein and let him know you want your regular offerings to be treated as Gift Aid.
  2. Once he knows you are interested then all it takes is a simple signature on a form along with your tax code.
  3. Only requirement is that you are a UK Tax Payer.

11.30am Family Service - Mini Quiz
For this week's family service, there will be a mini-quiz as part of the kids/family talk. This will be done through, so please bring along a mobile phone/tablet, if possible, to access this. A code will be provided on the day if you wish to take part. Let's see who the winner will be!
Though we have started back with Sunday gatherings, they are only a shadow of what church can be. I am aware that there are elements of our worship that are not yet as we would wish them to be. We are still unable to sing, although new research seems to show that it is the volume that is the critical risk factor in singing. Fellowship is also limited. So we would like to encourage the church to connect with one another. Here a reminder of the Phase 3 guidance:
You are able to meet outdoors with larger groups up to 4 different households at a time – but with no more than 15 people in total, and with physical distancing in place.
You can also meet people from up to 2 other households at a time indoors, but with no more than 8 people in total and with physical distancing
So two encouragements:
1. With this in mind, you are able to invite some people for fellowship in your home.
2. Under the rules for churches, we can have larger gatherings mid-week. If you are interested in gathering for fellowship mid-week, please let Chris know.

Thrive Conference 2020

Thrive Scotland was born out of a desire to see God move in the people we move amongst each and every day - the places where 90% of us spend 90% of our working lives. These places are often stressful and resistant to Christian things. We asked ourselves: How can we help Christians flourish in their workplace? It is our belief that God is moving within our frontline workplaces across Scotland and we want to catch something of His heart for our lives, workplace and cities.
Our aim is to see Christians empowered and equipped to live out the gospel in and through their workplace - impacting the kingdom through our organisations, churches and city. We are seeking to bring believers across Scotland inspiring teaching, honest discussions and deep reflection. We would love you to join us and be part of the discussion - starting on the 9th September at 12.00-1.00pm.

We will be running 12 webinars over the 8 days and will hold breakout groups on Saturday 12th September focussed on: Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and the Highlands & rural Scotland.

Pray for Mexico
Spanish is the official language and it is the world's largest Spanish speaking country, however, there are 297 languages spoken by the different peoples living in Mexico.
Most Mexicans are culturally Catholic but only about 10% regularly attend church. Many Mexicans blend the gods and goddesses of Amerindian spiritism into a folk version of Catholicism. Pray for the Holy Spirit to break the influence of these ancient gods and the spirit world. Pray for renewal to spread through the Mexican Catholic Church.
Drug trafficking, the associated cartels and gangs, immigration by Mexicans to the US, and child labour in Mexico all cause major problems. Please pray for God's righteousness and justice to prevail.
