Canada Challenge Update:

July 14 is quickly approaching. Reid is happily on track with his training program. Flights, support crew vehicles and accommodation are being booked. Event planning is well underway and I’m excited to be a part of the crew!

In 2013 David (my husband) and I visited Eagles Wings Christian Community School in Ndola, Zambia and experienced firsthand the impact education has made within the community of  Monkey Fountain. During our visit we were encouraged by the teachers, some of whom had been beneficiaries of Eagles Wings.
The Ukufuma Program is assisting graduates from Eagles Wings to continue to reach their God-given potential, with scholarships into further education.

The Simplicity Challenge is being supported by businesses, families and individuals from Australia, New Zealand and the United States. There's still time to join us. The funds raised will count to supporting the Ukufuma Program.

Making changes in my life takes some thought. Do I need that....coffee, take away meal, new piece of clothing? Now I DO love a sale and while taking care not to buy things I don’t need, sales are my thing! This is where I’m able to skim a few dollars off the weekly budget. What works for you? We’d love to hear your ideas (email us)!

Simplicity Challenge 2.0

The plan is for 1000 people to raise over $100,000 (that's just $100 each) from this ride, not from your donations, but from what you give up in order to donate. Register for the Simple. Generous. Life study or pledge an amount which you will work towards by the end of June 2018. For example you might pledge $200 and in order to reach that target you have to give up $200 worth of non-essentials by 30 June 2018 and then DONATE that amount to this cause. We'll give you plenty of suggestions and tips along the way.

Some Inspiration for March

Invite friends over...
Instead of going out for dinner, host a fun pot-luck dinner with your friends. Play cards, sit around a fire pit, or watch movies with your guests. You’ll all save money, and have a blast.
Make do and mend...
This doesn't just apply to holes in your socks or rips in your jeans (they're probably meant to be there).
Click the pic for tips and tricks.

"Use it up, wear it out, make it do and Do without"
Turn off the home aircon...
But still stay cool for free by spending the afternoon at a public art gallery or library (it's less tempting than the shops and cheaper than a trip to the movies). 18° anyone!?!
The funds raised from our #simplicitychallenge will go towards the Ukufuma Scholarships program. Here's what one of our Nursing students had to say:
"I want to help people, not to just gain money, but to also help their families as well as my family. Where I come from, it is a poor community. Upon successfully getting employment after college, I want to be the first in our community to support another student into college. My desire is to begin this chain that will go a long way."
