Ariane Szu-Tu is an editor for National Geographic Kids Books. She graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County where she had a full scholarship for writing and humanities and majored in English literature with minors in biology and environmental sciences. She was also the managing editor of the university paper and wrote articles for The Baltimore Sun. Ariane is responsible for managing and editing about 15-20 children's books per year for National Geographic, helping to shape content and sometimes coming up with new ideas for their list. In the past, Ariane has interned for the World Wildlife Fund's conservation science team, served as a proofreader for the American Geophysical Union, and developed a science curriculum for a local elementary school in Central America. In her spare time, Ariane leads student trips to places like Alaska and Fiji for National Geographic Student Expeditions.
