I'm excited to participate in the first-ever Blossoms and Butterflies
event, a fundraiser for the Gardens on Spring Creek Visitors Center and Butterfly House. In the words of organizer Peggy Lyle,
"Art and fun for great cause! If you love butterflies and artwork come play at this event by the Gardens on Spring Creek next week at the CCC in Downtown. The art auction is open now and there is a ton happening all week long. Help them get their wings!"
The CCC is the Carnegie Center for Creativity
at 200 Mathews Street in Fort Collins. My contribution to the auction is a field of sunflowers I painted a few years ago and revised in February (see 'before' and 'after' photos below). Come see all the artwork in person next week, including during First Friday Gallery Walk 6:00-9:00pm
And if you just can't wait
to see the artwork, follow THIS LINK
to the online auction where you can see all 50 pieces and place a bid on your favorite today!
Artwork is arranged alphabetically by title; my 'Sunflower Field' is toward the bottom of the listing.
MASKS are coming!
The Museum of Art Fort Collins is preparing their annual MASKS
"community art collaboration and benefit" this week. The exhibit opening is (also) next Friday, April 6 from 5-9:00pm. You may recall that I added 3D petals to my mask using up-cycled materials, and titled my composition 'Sunflower Revival.' Here's the official photo:
Lastly I want to share the Pianos About Town
design I submitted. Unfortunately, mine was not selected this year, but I still enjoyed developing my concept. Maybe I'll use the imagery in another work of art in the future. :)
Happy Spring to my fellow Northern Hemisphere residents, and Happy Easter to those who celebrate it!
