After eight years in operation, BIGCCS is in its final phase. Research activities will be completed during 2016, and results from the Centre will be presented at the BIGCCS Final Conference in Trondheim on October 26-27. As a BIGCCS partner you are cordially invited – registration information is found below. Results from BIGCCS will also be presented at the GHGT-13 Conference in Lausanne, Switzerland in November. No less than nine oral and 10 posters will carry the BIGCCS signature.

This Newsletter contains an article about the first successful experiments carried out on the 150 kW chemical looping combustion pilot plant at Tiller, Trondheim. With the very promising results from the first runs, expectations are high for further improvements in CLC technology applied to CO2 capture. Check out the lates developments below.

First successful CLC operation of the 150 kW pilot plant at SINTEF

In June, the 150 kWth CLC (Chemical Looping Combustion) pilot plant at SINTEF in Trondheim achieved its first successful operation in full CLC mode, with very good results. BIGCCS Final Conference, Oct. 26-27

After eight years in operation, the BIGCCS Centre ends in December 2016. We invite you to the Final Conference, in Trondheim on Oct. 26-27, at Clarion Hotel and Congress. The intention is to display the achievements from the Centre, and to discuss how the Centre has contributed in implementation of CCS. Read more

The GHGT-13 Conference is held in Lausanne, Switzerland, 14-18 November this fall. BIGCCS researchers will make their presence known with 9 oral presentations and 10 posters. Here we give you the list with the BIGCCS contributions. Read more

Climit PhD Seminar 2016

The CLIMIT PhD Seminar 2016 is held on October 20-21. As previous years, the seminar focuses on presentations from ongoing PhD projects within CCS. The Seminar will be an excellent meeting place for young researchers where you can learn more about CO2 capture and storage (CCS). Read more
