Water and sanitation sector financing and integrity - what do we need to know?
We're ramping up the preparations for the next Water Integrity Global Outlook on financing, due out in 2024. We're keen to go further in looking at tariff setting with integrity and other finance-related questions. Have a case study or key research question to share? Get in touch here.

3 initiatives to watch after COP27

It's too soon to take full stock of COP27, here are just 3 exciting initiatives, we're keeping on the radar.

Launch of the African Cities Water Adaptation Fund (ACWA Fund) for urban water resilience solutions: because the impact of climate change is being felt in major cities already and massive adaptation is needed to manage water risks and deliver services to a growing urban population.

Launch of integrity-led civil society partnership by the Green Climate Fund - Independent Integrity Unit: because citizen participation and oversight on climate adaptation financing is key to safeguard against maladaptation.

Renewed call to commit to Fair Water Footprints and build momentum for fair, responsible water usage and management.

3 opportunities to sway the agenda for integrity in 2023

The Call for Engagement for the Global WOPs Congress of 2023 is open through December 2. The theme is resilience in challenging times. We know integrity is an essential pillar to build resilience. Let's show the way.

A number of partners are organising a workshop on December 8 for civil society and youth organising towards the UN Water Conference - it's an important opportunity to coordinate and strengthen the voice of civil society at the UN Water conference. Special accreditation to attend the UN Water conference is also still possible until December 2.

The last OGP Strategy Community Conversation to weigh in on OGP strategic direction is Wednesday November 23 at 15:00 GMT and there's still time to give input to the online discussion. Let's make it count for the water and sanitation sectors.

3 learning opportunities

We are launching a free, online, self-paced course on integrity for water and sanitation service provision in informal settlements, to help participants better understand integrity and corruption risks hampering effective service delivery and what to do about them. Registration will open in January. To express interest and save a spot, please write to us!

Did you miss the latest Water Integrity Basics free, online course? No problem. New sessions for the course in English and for the specialised course for Latin America will open in early 2023.

Are you a researcher focusing on integrity-related issues and accountability in water and sanitation? Join our research lab to discuss latest research, methodologies, and opportunities. Our next online exchange will be on research methods and focus on sextortion.
